Delivering through a partner does not remove a Lead organization's accountability for the result — it changes who does what, not who answers for it.

Understand the concept
Many programmes deliver partly or entirely through Implementing Partners — other organizations executing activities on the funded organization's behalf, under its overall accountability. Managing this well means keeping a genuinely clear line between a partner's own operational data and the Lead organization's consolidated, accountable view of the whole programme — without either erasing the partner's ownership of their own work, or losing the Lead's ability to see the full picture across every partner at once.
Direct Implementation (the Lead organization delivering activities itself) and partner-delivered activities are genuinely different accountability relationships, even when they sit inside the same project and contribute to the same indicators — conflating them in reporting hides exactly who is responsible for what.
